In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK preparing for a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by matching the dates, events, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from the UK for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein before his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to release the series, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you are taken care of."

British Affairs Discussed in Exchanges

The published communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this day with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "The guys are attempting to move on. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think remaining as much as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon answered: "I don't see how BUT the people here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - somebody has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually removed in 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of no confidence in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter occurred.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should release all its records concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently denied any impropriety. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was initially charged.
