Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a trip to meet with defense personnel in the eastern front on the weekday. Zelenskyy announced that he consulted fighters at the military base of the 1st Corps of the state defense force Azov, which is managing protective maneuvers in the Dobropillya area, a location approximately 12 miles from the city.

Critical Circumstances in Pokrovsk

Updated analysis from a local initiative indicated that invading troops had made gains into Pokrovsk and its environs, though a large portion remained beyond firm control by either side. The conditions are severe, with updates indicating that opposition troops were fortifying positions and building up positions in certain areas.

Invading troops continue to advance in the Pokrovsk front and are reportedly acting with enhanced confidence within Pokrovsk itself.

Military experts observed that national troops had freed a large area of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk campaign.

Kyiv's Aerial Attacks Inside the Federation

Ukrainian long-range drones attacked an industrial plant approximately 1,300km inside Russian territory at the location. Local officials confirmed a blast at the industrial complex that caused its water treatment facility to partially collapse, adding that the origin of the detonation was undetermined. The Ukrainian military general staff stated there was significant destruction to the facility.

Defense units reported hitting a Lukoil oil refinery at the location in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region to the east of the capital. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The local official acknowledged a strike by multiple unmanned aircraft near the refinery.

Defense force members will now have to secure petroleum plants against unmanned assaults after Vladimir Putin enacted a decree on the weekday extending their entanglement in the military campaign. The Russian ruler also enacted a decree allowing military conscription all year round whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in cooler seasons. The federation restricts draftees from being assigned to fighting, but after their defense commitment they enter Russia's reserves, placing them in danger of being sent to war.

Substantial defense expenditures have also started to stress the federal treasury, with the government increasing levies to plug a rising deficit.

Zelenskyy's Calls for Global Assistance

Zelenskyy urged the US to continue considering to supplying Kyiv with far-reaching military equipment. Addressing a European Union summit from the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian president also demanded more international restrictions on the federation – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he desired European Union membership before 2030.
